Peeling - stimulating the skin to renew and regenerate

The depth of action of chemical peels and the intensity of exfoliation are influenced not only by the concentration of a given acid, but by many other factors:
-substance or mixture used for exfoliation
-particle size
-solution pH value
-acid strength (pKa)
-percentage concentration
-form of the preparation or bioavailability
-amount of the preparation applied
-tools and method of application
-time of contact with the skin
-structure of the stratum corneum

Yes, currently there are special chemical peels that can be safely performed in the summer. These include lactobionic acid, lactic acid, and azelaic acid.

Can acids be used by pregnant women?

Yes, we have special treatment protocols for pregnant women, e.g. for acne treatment during pregnancy.

Does exfoliation occur after every chemical peel?

No, it all depends on the depth, pH and concentration of the peel. There are peels that do not cause visible exfoliation on the skin, but affect the hydration of the epidermis.

How long does it take for skin to heal after acids?

It depends on what peeling will be used for the procedure and what the skin problem is. All indications and post-treatment care are discussed during the visit so that the patient can return to their daily activities.

Can acids be used on other parts of the body?

We perform peels on any part of the body that we want to stimulate. The procedure can be performed on the delicate eye or mouth area, but also on the back, buttocks and arms.
