Is barbecue healthy?

Before we fully indulge in summer relaxation, it is worth considering how to take care of your health while grilling. Frequent consumption of fatty meats or improper processing of food can affect our well-being. We have a few tips for you on how to enjoy a grill in a healthy way.

Dear Patients, the summer season is fast approaching, and with it the sun, free time in the fresh air and picnics. But are roasted sausages, pork neck, and shish kebabs good for our health?

As always, IT DEPENDS.

We must remember a few rules

  1. If the digestive system is healthy and can digest meals well, grilling once every two weeks will be safe for us. It is important to remember that grilling meat more often is not good for our body, due to high-temperature processing, and consequently – more difficult protein digestion.
  2. Let’s remember to add seasonal vegetables. They can be raw or grilled. Colorful vegetable salads with the addition of olive oil and herbs are a good idea.
  3. Let’s be careful with aluminum trays. Under the influence of temperature and fat, aluminum can pass into our body along with food, which is not good for our health (especially for the brain). A better solution would be, for example, grilling pans.
  4. It is worth replacing fatty meat (pork, beef) with poultry, e.g. in the form of turkey or any fish, tofu or halloumi cheese.
  5. Remember not to grill bread! Toasting bread for a long time causes the formation of acrylamide – a carcinogenic substance.

By maintaining healthy moderation and common sense, we can calmly enjoy the grilling season. Let’s remember that a grill is not only a tasty meal, but also a social aspect. It is often combined with a nice time spent with family and friends – and this is very important and necessary for us.

We remind you that on 01.05.2023 and 03.05.2023 we are all resting. On 02.05.2023, you can schedule a consultation in person or online via our portal.

Have a nice rest!
