A few words about thermogenesis
Most people on a slimming basis look for a way to increase the efficiency of the fat burning process at some stage of the weight reduction process. Of course, there is no magic specificity or a miracle diet, however, there are some compounds that can help us on the way to our dream figure. These relationships are thermogenics.
Before we get closer to thermogenic substances, however, we need to clarify a related term, namely thermogenesis.
What is thermogenesis?
Thermogenesis is a physiological process in our body that relies on the release of heat to maintain a constant body temperature (a characteristic of warm-blooded animals, including humans, of course).
Postprandial thermogenesis this is the increase in the production of thermal energy after food consumption. It is estimated that food-induced thermogenesis accounts for an average of 6-10% of the body’s daily energy expenditure. The process of generating heat is associated with an increased consumption of energy, which is obtained by the body from stored adipose tissue. Protein is characterized by the highest thermogenic effect.
Increased thermogenesis = more efficient fat burning
Knowing the concept of thermogenesis, we can explain what the aforementioned thermogenics areoften called “fat burners”. Well, these are substances that increase the metabolic rate by increasing the body temperature, which, as previously mentioned, stimulates fat metabolism.
Thermogenics can be divided into natural and synthetic, the former are of course more beneficial to health and we want to focus on them.
